What is an Attitude of Christian Stewardship?
Stewardship is how disciples respond.
Challenge
Today’s culture makes it more difficult to choose an attitude and lifestyle that reflects an understanding of who Jesus Christ calls us to be.
Living as a steward
Stewardship is a way of life. There are formal ways we may guide the Catholic Faith, and there are volunteer ways to serve each other. But living out stewardship is seeing God at work in all that we do. We are blue and white collar workers. We are farmers. We are parents. We have friendships. Whether it is in the office, in the field or in our homes, we are called to be a Christian witness. Living out Christian stewardship happens during the ordinary moments of every day.
The Christian Steward
The Church gives us a beautiful model in Mary, who gave even her son away so that we might be blessed. We are also called to extraordinary acts of generosity so that others may be blessed. It means taking a portion for yourself, and being generous with that portion God has entrusted to you. It is trying to live out this life, this attitude, every day.
