MINISTRY GUIDE
Please consult the following Ministry Guide for more information about each ministry.  Take a few moments to prayerfully discern where God is calling to serve Him and His Church.  If you feel that you would like to share your time and talents to a particular ministry or ministries, please complete our Stewardship form.

FAITH FORMATION

Faith Formation Committee  Members are responsible for determining the goals and objectives to meet the educational needs of the entire parish community and for monitoring  and evaluating the programs (not including the OCS system) designed to carry out these goals and objectives. ADULTS
RCIA Hospitality   Ministers assist in organizing and serving refreshments when RCIA meets.  Contact Sr. Julia

CHILDREN
*Catechist for Religious Ed    Catechist teach the Catholic faith to students.  Contact Diane Willis

*Catechist Aide for Religious Ed Aide   Ministers assist in teaching Catholic faith to students. Contact Diane Willis

*Support Staff for Religious Ed   Ministers assist with organization and traffic.  Contact Diane Willis

*VBS Staff   Ministers assist with teaching or support for a week of Vacation Bible School in mid June. Contact Diane Willis

*Children’s Liturgy of the Word Leader Leader prepares and facilitates the session for children PS-2nd grade on Sundays during the 10:00am Mass. Contact Diane

*Children’s Liturgy of the Word Adult & Youth Assistants  Adult/youth assist with CLW for children in PS-2nd Grade on Sundays during the 10:00am Mass. (Grades 6-12) Contact Diane Willis

PRE-MARRIAGE

Engaged Encounter   A weekend experience helping engaged couples prepare for the Sacrament of Matrimony.  Contact Don and Mary Weaver 684-7109

WORSHIP/LITURGY

Art and Environment Planning Committee   Members plan and design the liturgical art and environment for the church especially during the Advent/Christmas and Lent/Easter Seasons.  Meetings called prior to special seasons.  Contact Fr. Art and Environment Decorating Team  The team carries out the decorating plans set forth by the planning committee.  They are needed most for the Advent/Christmas and Lent/Easter Seasons. MINISTRY AT MASS
Lectors  Ministers provide effective delivery of the Word of God.  Open to 10th grade and above. Training will be required for new lectors. Contact Lucy Rhoades  691-9484 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.  

Eucharistic Ministers   Ministers distribute the Body and Blood of Christ at Mass.  Open to 10th grade and above. Training will be required for all ministers. Contact Fr. Altar Servers  Ministers assist the priest during the weekend Eucharistic Liturgies.  Open to boys and girls upon the completion of 3rd grade, through High School.  Must complete 3 sessions to be scheduled. MUSIC MINISTRY

Cantor Individuals lead singing at various Masses throughout the year.  Rehearsals Thursday at 5:45pm.  

Adult Choir Open to anyone wishing to share their voice for weekend liturgies.   No previous experience necessary.   Rehearsals Thursday evenings at 6:30pm.

Youth Choir or Children’s Choir– Youth Choir Grades 6 thru High School. Children’s Choir Grades 2-6.  Ministers at Mass every 4-6 weeks throughout the year. Rehearsals Sunday mornings at 11 the week prior to singing.

Funeral Choir Open to anyone wishing to share their voice for funeral Masses.  No previous experience necessary.    

Instrumentalists  Ministers who play an instrument are invited to assist with weekly Mass or special occasions.   

Help with special service Ministers who physically setting up for special services such as Taize, Evening prayer, Communal Penance

FOOD

Prayer Link   This ministry is a prayer network that links our parish family socially & spiritually.  Members will be contacted to pray for those requesting prayer.  Contact Linda Rocco 684-9038

Feisty Fifty Ministers plan and coordinate meals, speakers, entertainment, games and other activities several times each year for those 50 years of age and older. Contact Mickey Brewer  685-3015

SOCIAL CONERNS
Social Concerns Committee Members call the parish community to a deeper understanding of the social mission of the Church and provide resources to consciously translate into effective action. Organizing Card of Care Ministers will sort, address and send cards to shut-ins at Christmas and Easter.   Contact Lisa Sims

Haiti Mission Ministers coordinate and plan events to provide resources and support to St. Joseph Parish in Sources Chaudes, Haiti. Ministers also needed to carryout these plans. Parish Council  Members gather to initiate, promote, undertake, and carry out needs of the Parish with the approval of the pastor.
